Chennai: Singer and music composer Shan Johnson, daughter of late music director Johnson, was found dead in her flat here today, police said.
The police said her mother and another close relative went to her flat in Ashok Nagar this morning and on not getting any answer from her to repeated calls on her mobile broke the door open to find her dead. The two stay in another locality in the city.

Police said Shan (29) had come to her flat after completing a recording session and was scheduled to go for another assignment this morning.
Other details were not known immediately.
Shan, a trained Carnatic and western musician, had rendered songs for "Engeyayum Eppothdum and "Paravai" (both Tamil), 'Praise the Lord' and "Thira" (Malayalam), among others.
She had also composed music for a Malayalam film "His Name is John."
Shan's father Johnson, fondly known as Johnson Master, was a renowned and respected music composer in Malayalam film industry. He passed away on August 18, 2011. In February, 2012, his son Renn Johnson (23) was killed in a motorbike accident.
