Shanghai: Continuing his impressive run, Yuki Bhambri progressed to the singles semifinals of the USD 50,000 ATP Challenger tournament, in Shanghai on Saturday.
The fourth seed Indian saw off Australia's Jordan Thompson 6-2 6-2 in one hour and 11 minutes in the quarterfinals.
Yuki, who is yet to drop a set in this tournament, did not face a single breakpoint and broke his rival twice in each set.
Yuki won 61 points to 41 of the Australian. "I was solid today. I served well consistently, so that definitely helped," Yuki said after his match.
The 23-year-old Delhi lad is the seeded player left in the tournament as others bit dust. He next faces a tough
opponent in Russian qualifier Daniil Medvedev.
