A run down of the star batsman's recent injuries which came before the cancer scareKho-kho knock out
In Mohali, during the 2006 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, Yuvraj Singh twisted his knee while playing kho-kho with his India teammates. The sport was quickly ridiculed and removed from India's practice sessions. India were coached by Australian Greg Chappell then. During the 2009 Champions Trophy in South Africa, Yuvraj fractured his finger during a training session in Johannesburg. No, he's not fibbing: Yuvraj Singh is in the throes of pain after hurting

On the 2010 tour of Sri Lanka, Yuvraj Singh suffered from flu followed by dengue fever after the first Test at Galle where he got a half century in the first innings. Sri Lanka won the Test by 10 wickets. Suresh Raina took his place and cemented it with a century in the second Test. That wrist injury...
In January 2010, while on tour in Bangladesh, Yuvraj Singh suffered an injury to his left wrist which put serious doubts over his participation in the home series against South Africa which was to follow. The southpaw found the wrist injury most frustrating. "It's just unfortunate that I've got these injuries in the last four months. We've got a very important year for the Indian team and I should not be getting injured this year, fingers crossed. It's just been happening in the last year only. I don't know, I think my technique of diving has gone a bit haywire or something," he told a television channel.A scare at the World Cup nets
WHILE batting in the nets before taking on England in the 2011 World Cup game at Bangalore, Yuvraj Singh injured his hand through a delivery from maverick fast bowler S Sreesanth. Although Yuvraj played the game, the hit was quite a scare considering Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar had minor injuries too. He scored 58 off 50 balls in a game which ended in a tie. He ended up being the player of the tournament for champions India.Bresnan's cruel blow in Nottingham
AGAINST England at Nottingham in 2011, Yuvraj scored 62 before falling to Stuart Broad. In the second innings, as Cricinfo reported, "Tim Bresnan banged in Yuvraj's 11th delivery short of a length, and it climbed fast towards the batsman's neck but he skipped and tried to tap the ball safely towards the leg side. The ball hit him on the index finger of the left hand and Yuvraj threw the bat away, immediately wincing in pain."
He was dismissed a few overs later -- caught at slip by Alastair Cook off a Bresnan bouncer.
