Dawn of MiD DAY
In 1938, the late Mr Abdul Hamid Ansari decided to contribute his might towards the freedom struggle by launching an Urdu morning broadsheet, Inquilab Daily. Today, more than 70 years later, Inquilab Daily is the largest circulated and most popular Urdu paper in Maharashtra. He later passed on the mantle to his eldest son Mr Khalid Abdul Hamid Ansari, our chairman. Mr Khalid Ansari diversified into other publications. He has been awarded the Padmashree in recognition of his distinguished service in the field of literature and education (journalism). He launched MiD DAY in Mumbai on June 27, 1979 which turned into Mumbai's favourite tabloid eveninger within six months of its launch. Sunday MiD DAY appeared on news stands 12 months after MiD DAY as a Sunday morning tabloid.
Subsequently, under the able leadership of Mr Tariq Ansari, our managing director, a few more media products were added to MiD DAY. |
