When young attorney and former hockey star Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) is convicted of a driving offence, his punishment is a little out of the ordinary - he must serve as the coach for a hapless team of inner-city hockey players. Gordon initially thinks he can skate through his assignment, but the spunky "Ducks" prove to be more than what he bargained for. Soon, Gordon rediscovers his love for hockey, and on the way to the league championship, stikes a romance with one of the moms.
