  Design high: Models showcasing Hidesign clothes bags at an
exclusive fashion show at Pondicherry last week. Hide and seek
Dilip Kapur was as pleased as the potent punch served at the Alliance Francaise, Pondicherry last week. He and wife Jacqueline had every reason to be the intimate fashion show (choreographed by Prasad Bidapa) showcasing their leather company, Hidesigns, fall-winter collection met with oohs, aahs and I-want-that.
Born and based in the peaceful southern seaside former French colony, Hidesign has also just opened its third outlet in Mumbai on Juhu-Tara Road.
Buttersoft leathers and hoboshapes dominate its new collection, washed leather jackets and a vintage look, embellished with zips and pockets, are the seasons styles. Red, burgundy, cream and white rule the colour palette for men and women, with emphasis on craftsmanship, detailing and comfort.
Leather garments are about looking great and sexy. They are fashion garments, not just protective, said Kapur, who is himself an Aurovillian and proud of it. Aimed at the career man and woman, Hidesigns focus continues to be elegance, globalisation and eco-friendliness.
Attended by Pondicherrys and Aurovilles whos who, the USP of the show was some of Kapurs students walking the ramp alongside a bunch of Bangalore models. Loud cheers greeted the kids as they modelled handbags, travel bags, cross-body bags, jackets, trousers, belts and briefcases.
We hear that the novice and professional models continued to exchange notes at the after-show party.

The front row faces were unfamiliar, the music offbeat and the atmosphere relaxed the Ssas 2003 show in Goa on Friday was definitely a refreshing change from Mumbais dime-a-dozen fashion shows.
As dusky models strode down the outdoor ramp showcasing the collections of Bangalores Hidden Harmony (Sonali and Himanshu), Mumbais Sarah Eapen and Goas own Savio Jon, we took in the sound of the sea, the whispers of Goas fashion show crowd and the idyllic surroundings of The Spa Grounds, Taj Fort Aguada.
There were asymmetrical cuts aplenty in Hidden Harmonys resort line of mostly-linens, while Sarah Eapen showed an extremely wearable collection of simple silk dresses and black net skirts and dresses offset by silk beaded-and-buttoned bikini tops and full-length skirts.
Eapens showstopper and a flowing brown gown by Savio Jon are reason enough to make the trip to Goa if you are into clothes.

Saturday evening saw us at the Bacardi Kamasutra Night at Rock Bottom in Juhu. We put on our sensual best and headed there for a night of exotica and debauchery but unfortunately, the event did not exactly tickle our fancy.
Save for two young, bare-chested, dhoti-clad studs serving us Bacardi-drenched fruit balls, there was not much happening to fit in with the theme. Unless you count a brass statue of a couple courting each other, placed against a wall and surrounded by candles but even this was not Kamasutra enough.
And if you were scouting for some sizzling hot famous women, you found them only after 2.30 am as most of them dropped in only after attending another party nearby. Only the delectable Madhu Sapre stood out from the lot. She looks more ravishing as the years go by and can put any model half her age to shame. We also spotted MTV VJ Anusha and Rock Bottoms Raman Macker, who arrived after 3 am with Ambika Hinduja.

Kylie Minogue will launch her sensational new album with a free gig at Londons Hammersmith Apollo next month.
It will be one of the hottest dates in the pop calendar and we reckon tickets to the November 15 event will be snapped up in minutes.
Her latest album Body Language will be released on November 17. The Aussie
pop princess will perform tracks from it, including her new single Slow, out on November 3.

We spotted the lovebirds enjoying a romantic weekend at an isolated cabin in Idaho. Charlies Angels actress Demi is rumoured to be talking marriage with Ashton and has even met his parents.
