BACK TO COLLEGE: Ankur Nayar and Aparna Tilak in JeetAfter their modern-day womens saga Lipstick (Zee TV), the brother-sister duo of Shrishti Arya and Goldie Behl of Rose Audiovisuals now take a look at teachers in Jeet. Its more about life in the staffroom than classrooms and canteen, says Arya about the campus-based serial. Jeet takes a look at the psyche of teachers. They are constantly trying to make the lives of students but in the bargain no one wonders what is happening in their lives, she adds.
Jeet, a one-hour weekly soap, shot on sets erected at Kamalistan Studios, will air on Star from October 10 every Friday at 9.30 pm. Directed by Bhushan Patel, the cast includes Ankur Nayar, Aparna Tilak, Mrinal Kulkarni, Arun Govil, Pawan Malhotra and Kruttika Desai.
Tilak, who plays an English teacher, and Nayar, who is an economics professor, are the protagonists of the show. Jeet portrays teachers as human beings. How students and the ins and outs of teaching make an impact on their lives, adds Arya.
Incidentally, Lipstick, which has been running for over a year, has had over 200 episodes aired. Rose Audivisuals (also producers of the childrens show Shaka Laka Boom Boom) also have plans to make films, but that will only happen next year, says Arya.
