Why else would she fondle them in public? We won’t even try to understand this behaviour. It’ll be far easier to decode The Da Vinci Code than the goings-on of Rakhi’s mind! Come fly with me
He tells HiTLIST, “My father wanted me to become a doctor, but Prachee stood by me. She convinced dad to let me to do what I want. Once he understood, he sent me to Canada for training. Now, I can’t wait to pilot my family. Once I’m through with 1,000 hours of flying, I will become a full-fledged pilot.” Prachee is now getting ready to celebrate her brother’s achievement on his 20th birthday (on August 8) at Mainland China. Sweet! Mard ko dard nahin hota
The actor was required to hit a wall in frustration for a shot, and he was so involved that he ended up breaking his wrist bone. But the ‘braveheart’ continued shooting. He says, “I had to finish the episode and didn’t realise how much my hand was hurting. I just wanted to give my best shot.” The director of the show, Rakesh Malhotra, adds, “Romit tends to get very involved in the scenes. Poor chap hurt his hand badly. But I like the commitment he shows towards work.” Chalo, as long as director saab is khush, minor bruises and broken bones are of no consequence! So much for India
While that’s no reason not to wish Shah Rukh Khan & Co good luck for the film, we’re truly disappointed to learn that fans in London and Los Angeles are going to see far more action than their Indian counterparts. On the 60th anniversary of India’s independence, the film’s cast and crew will celebrate the film (that’s supposed to bring a surge of patriotism to our cold, cold hearts) in the UK and USA (someone please explain this patriotic logic to us). Apparently, two gala world premieres have been organised there as centerpieces of global celebrations of Indian culture on the 60th anniversary of Indian independence. No harm in that really, but we can’t understand why the Indian audience is being left out of what is their celebration. We’d love to thump our chests with national pride alongside SRK and Yash Raj, but it seems we’re just not important enough. Their ‘international market’ and the money they’re going to make out of it is all that matters in the end, huh? Write to us at hitlist@mid-day.com and tell us what you think! A table for two
Last heard, Ekta was furious with Anuj for walking out of Kkusum and launching his own production house, Maverick. So has the duo’s cold war ended? Or is this meeting to do with the television awards both are organising this year? It’s common knowledge now that Ekta has barred Balaji actors from participating in Anuj’s awards gala. But like it happens in the soaps, anything is possible in tellyland! A ‘Saif’ Sunday
The doting father was taking Ibrahim to the neighbourhood mall’s play center, which is full of video games, car rides and flying carpets. The mall was swarming with hundreds of shoppers but that didn’t stop him from stepping out in such a public place. Dressed in jeans, a white tee and a pink bandana, Saif was a picture of casual ease. While he did attract a fair amount of attention, after a point the crowd gave him space to have a good time with his son. Once Ibrahim was satisfied, the duo headed home. Blue-blooded, well-bred or a simpleton when it comes to fatherhood, whatever it is Saif definitely wins our vote for being a hands-on dad! RAZA’S BOLLYWOOD
