| Sanjay Dutt is very happy with Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal. So much so, that he’s even planning to atend the film’s premiere on September 7.
First outing
Says producer Ashok Thakeria, “I’m very happy. Sanju has promised to attend the premiere on Wednesday. He loved the film.”
If he attends, this will be Dutt’s first public appearance since being released from jail. “Last week, we had a special screening of Dhamaal for Sanju and he loved the film. In fact, he was so excited after seeing it that he called up all the actors (Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaffri, Aashish Choudhury and Riteish Deshmukh) at 9 am the next day and congratulated them on their performances.”
Dutt’s the way
Arshad Warsi, who has co-starred with Dutt in many a films, says, “It was very sweet of Sanju to call all of us up. He compliment us on our performance, but I’m not surprised. Sanju always does that when he likes a film. He’s always ready with compliments.”
Warsi recalls his experience working with Sanju on Dhamaal, saying, “It was great working with him again. I am getting used to working with Sanju. He plays a cop who is after us because we have some information he needs.”
Arshad says it was one ‘dhamaal’ experience working in the film. “It’s a funky, mad film where I play a guy who thinks he has the answers to everything, but always turns out to be wrong in the end.”
Cracking up
About working with his other co-stars, he says, “We would crack up in between shots as all of us — from Riteish, Jaaved to Ashish — have a great sense of humour. Riteish looks like a very serious guy, but comes up with these amazing one liners.”
