Like The Sound Of That? Anu Malik
The IPL matches begin later this month. And as the day draws closer, the owners of the teams are forging on with their plans.

While Shah Rukh Khan’s Knight Riders and Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab have already worked out their anthems, Mukesh Ambani has signed music director Anu Malik to compose for his team — Mumbai Indians.

The song has been penned by Javed Akhtar and sung by Sonu Niigaam, Abhijeet, Udit Narayan, Kunal Ganjawala and Anu Malik.

A source describes the song, “It’s a signature Anu Malik composition and is based on the spirit of the city (of Mumbai). Anu and the team’s captain Sachin Tendulkar are both Mumbai boys.”

Impressing Neeta

That’s Why We Hired You, Man! Neeta and Mukesh Ambani
It is learnt that Mukesh personally approached Malik for the song and his wife Neeta closely worked with the composer on this project, “She was actively involved from the very first day.

By the time the song got composed, she was quite impressed with Anu.

It has a local flavour and at the same time has a very new-age rock sound to it.”

A music video for the song will be shot in the coming days.
