Copy Kiya Re: Tusshar Kapoor and George |
The actor plays a crime reporter called Akshay Kumar in C Kkompany. He says, "I always do what my director instructs me to. Sachin told me that he didn't want a tapori or bhai but the average Mumbaikar's lingo. He added that it would be better if I spent some time with George. My character hosts a late-night sensational crime show, something like Sansani and Wardaat."
Tusshar adds that Sachin insisted on George because he had lived with Maharashtrians who led a typical Mumbai life. "For two weeks, George and I had beer-drinking sessions in the evening and meetings at the coffee shop at Sun N Sand, as Sachin wanted us to loosen up and lose our inhibitions. He wanted me to get a feel of the character so that I could speak toota-foota Hindi."
Not the first time
Earlier for Rohit Shetty's Golmaal, Tusshar had done a workshop with Vikas Kadam to learn the finer nuances of a character who is deaf and dumb. Tusshar laughs, "That workshop was gruelling while the one with George was more enjoyable.
I had met him during Shootout At Lokhandwala and was happy when Sachin asked me to learn from him. C Kkompany is about three common men who unite to solve their problems but that makes them a Robin Hood-like entity in the eyes of the masses."
Anything he has learnt from being around George? Tusshar, who is one of the best mimics in the industry, says, "I picked his way of laughing it's quite naughty; also how to speak in an even tone about everything. George is very cool."
