Toony tunes
Ajay and Kajol Devgan's beti Nysa loves watching cartoons and so does daddy dear... sometimes. That's why he's doing Toonpur Ka Superhero where he takes on all kinds of cartoons and even fights the evil ones. And if you're wondering what the Devgans' favorite cartoon characters are they are Tom and Jerry! Says Devgan, "They are my all-time favorites and whenever I need to unwind, I catch up on a Tom and Jerry show with Nysa. The cartoon is funny yet intelligent." Wonder how Nysa's going to react to papa's Toonpur turn.
Ajay is healhty
Yesterday, a website reported that Ajay Devgan was rushed to Holy Family Hospital in Bandra after he complained of chest pains at the shoot of Toonpur Ka Superhero. But Devgan's spokesperson dismisses the rumours. "Ajay was in the hospital for a few minutes. He has been suffering from back pain for the last few days and his doctor Dr Brian Pinto happened to be visiting then, so Ajay just dropped in for a check-up. Ajay is fine."
Camerastruck
Aarti Chabbria had a mishap on the sets of Indra Kumar's Daddy Cool recently, while shooting for the title song at Kandivali. She was required to clamber up a stage with a camera positioned alongside. As it was pitch dark, Aarti went head-long into the camera stand. After rubbing several cubes of ice on her head, Aarti managed to give her shot. Not a case of naach na aaye...
Let's take a look
Karan Johar's latest blog entry is a look into the past. It has unseen photos from the making of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. This is what the filmmaker says in the lines preceding the display of photos, "Most importantly, above and beyond every other reasoning, it was the film of mine that my father loved the most. These fading, stained, and slightly abused black & whites bring back to my life a fond and vivid reliving of color, lights, camera, and action." How nice of you to share. Just wish it were possible to expand them to a bigger size. Check out the blog on www.mynameiskaran.com
Meri behnaâ¦
Although a kitty of movies by top directors are lined up for Harman, he really wishes to work with his sister, who was the creative head of his debut Love Story 2050. Says Harman, "After working so closely with her for 2050, I have seen how my sister approaches things, be it a discussion on scenes, set design, or visual aesthetics. She is just amazing." Hmm, just in time for Raksha Bandhan!
Dippy gets scratched
Pigeons scratched poor Deepika Padukone while shooting the Khuda Jaane song in the upcoming Bachna Ae Haseeno directed by Siddharth Anand. The song, shot at St Mark's Square, Venice, required the actress to stretch out her arms and have pigeons perch on them. The actress says, "Pigeons fly away so they sprinkled pigeon food on me to lure them and almost 30 pigeons came and sat on my arm. Initially, I screamed a lot but then when I calmed down it felt like an amazing experience. Though by the end of it, I had these tiny scratches on my arms. The shot looks beautiful now; it seems well worth the experience." Not everybody loves Deepu dear, eh?
