Akshay Kumar is the newest king of the box-office. The actor's next mega release, Singh Is Kinng has been sold everywhere for an astronomical price.

In many territories, the movie has got a much higher price than Shah Rukh Khan's last movie Om Shanti Om. Does that mean Akki is the new king of B-Town?

An industry insider reveals, "Akshay's market value and price has been growing by the second. Since the last few years, the actor started delivering hits at will. Almost all his films that have released in the past two years have gone on to become blockbusters, barring his last outing (Tashan), which was a dud. But his next (SIK) has been sold for amazing prices all over the globe."

Sajid Nadiadwala, the film's producer and distributor got the movie the best territories (Punjab and Central India (CI)) which has a great Punjabi dominance. He has got the movie for somewhere close to Rs 5 crores. SRK's last movie was sold for Rs 2 crores in the same territories.

Though he is not willing to disclose the exact amount Nadiadwala says, "Yes, I have bought the distribution rights at a huge price for Punjab and CI provinces, which include Indore, MP and Berar. It's the highest ever for any film till now for these provinces. Akshay's Welcome had sold for two and half crore for Punjab and CI.

Not even Gadar or Dhoom got such a high price. I have bought the distribution rights under Nadiadwala Entertainment Works which also distributed Om Shanti Om and Heyy Babyy. I only select films after I have read the scripts and am very confident of. I know SIK will justify my faith. It's also close to my heart as Akshay is in the film."
