Zayed Khan injured himself on the sets of Anthony D'Souza's action flick Blue, which is currently being filmed in Phuket, Thailand. The incident happened on Sunday morning and the actor was rushed to a hospital.
It is learned that Zayed was atop a bulding and fell from a height of 20 feet onto a car parked below. It was part of a scene that was to be shot with Hollywood action director James D Bomalick (The Mummy, Indiana Jones). ZK was not wearing a harness and instead of landing on his feet, fell flat on his face hitting the windscreen that smashed resulting in injuries on his forehead. An ambulance was summoned and he was rushed for medical aid.
Says producer Dhilin Mehta of Ashtavinayak, "Zayed's mishap caused a scare on the sets. As a result, the shoot had to be halted yesterday. He had to receive stitches due to the bleeding. After a couple of hours, he was discharged from hospital.
The incident, however, has not scared Zayed who wants to be labelled as an action hero, after his role in Apoorva Lakhia's Mission Istaanbul.
Says Zayed, "I am feeling better now. It was a freak mishap. I fell on the car and suddenly there was pain and blood all over my face. As the windscreen had smashed, I injured my forehead, just near the hairline. Everyone was freaking out on the sets but I kept my cool. I have received a couple of stitches but it's okay, such things can happen while doing action stunts yourself."
He adds, "I am looking forward to begin shooting again after a day's break. Now I will need a good make-up artist to camouflage the bandage."
Why was he not wearing a harness? "Harness? That's for amateurs who do stunts, not for me!" he laughs.
Blue, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta, is being shot along waterfronts. It had a schedule recently in the Bahamas. Sanjay and Akshay are slated to join the Phuket schedule later this week.
