When a producer has Govinda's dates, he shoots. Even if the shot includes a heroine who isn't even on the sets. Simply because everyone who has worked with Chi Chi knows they have to make the most of the time the actor is available. You never know when you will get his date next, or if he will show up on the scheduled date at all.

Recently, on the sets of Rumy Jafry's Life Partner, a scene with Chi Chi and his leading lady getting married was to be filmed. The only hitch? The leading lady still hasn't been finalised but since the actor was on the set, and all dressed up, they decided to shoot it anyway.

Says a source from the set, "The director didn't want to cancel the shooting at any cost. He asked a junior artiste to stand in for the bride. Since she'd be in a ghoonghat (veiled) anyway, it wouldn't matter. The marriage scene was canned without the leading lady. Talks are on with Preity Zinta and Lara Dutta for the part.
Now, whichever actress accepts the part, will have to wear the same costume worn by the artiste for the
close-up shots. The film also stars Fardeen Khan and Genelia and Tusshar Kapoor and Prachi Desai.

Govinda confirms the incident and says, "Yes we used a dummy for that scene. It wasn't a full-length shot but just a few close-ups of the marriage scene." Does he know who will be the actress opposite him? "These days I don't ask any questions. I just land up on the set and do what's told to me and go home. Agar mujhe koi kahein ki jaake bhains ko dhona hai toh main woh bhi kar loonga."
