Kareena Kapoor is an Indian actress born on the 21st of September, 1980. She belongs to the illustrious Kapoor family, considered as the first family of Bollywood - the Hindi Film industry of India.
Her parents are former actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor. Her elder sister is also a popular film star Karisma Kapoor.
She debutted with the movie Refugee in the year 2000 opposite Abhishek Bachchan another star son from a famous family. She won the Best Female Debut Award - Filmfare.
After a string of commercial movies of which only a couple did well, she stated taking up offers of alternate cinema or arty cinema. She got a lot of critical acclaim for movies such as Chameli, Dev and Omkara. Her most memorable role was in 2007's blockbuster Jab We Met, which put her leagues ahead of her contemporaries.
