In grand company: Kalpand Pandit with Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt | B-Town starlet Kalpana Pandit rubs shoulders with Hollywood biggies
B-Town starlet Kalpana Pandit, who made her presence felt at the Hollywood premiere events of The Dark Knight and later, the James Bond flick Quantum of Solace was also invited to the world premiere of Brad Pitt's latest movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button held on Monday at the Mann Theatre, Los Angeles.
Though a doctor by profession, LA-based Kalpana is on the acting-modelling circuit there, as a result of which she gets invited to A-List Hollywood events.
The actress has featured in Bollywood films like Padma-shree Laloo Prasad Yadav, Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Na Jaaye, Pitaah and Moksha.
Lovin' India
Pandit who was also eminent artist M F Hussain's muse (besides Madhuri Dixit!) when he directed Gajagamini, rubbed shoulders with the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez.
Kalpana, who sashayed on the red carpet sporting a regal red Versace evening gown, says from LA, "It was an honour to have been invited to the premiere and the after-party.
When I connected with Brad Pitt who plays the title role, he said, 'I love your country, man. I am in love with India. It was a pleasure shooting some of the scenes on exotic locales in North India."
High points
She recalls that Angelina too was concerned about 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, "She made it a point to check if knew any of the victims. She then said 'I feel really sorry about what's going on in your country.'
The high point of the night for Kalpana was when J-Lo complimented her on her red dress that evening. Incidentally, Kalpana has prominently featured in an upcoming music-video with musician Pritam and his band.
"The music-video was shot in Mumbai is produced by STV USA Inc and directed by Rajeev Khandelwal ( not the actor)," concludes Pandit.
