Ain't happening: Shah Rukh Khan and (inset)Vishal Bhardwaj | Gets Bhardwaj in King Khan's bad books
If all had gone well, Shah Rukh Khan would've been part of Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming project. The actor was impressed with the director's past work and agreed to meet him when he knocked on the Mannat's gates. SRK apparently liked the script but he had a few problems with it and made a few suggestions to the director, who took offence to Khan's inputs. How it went down
A source in the industry reveals, "Vishal, who's known for being temperamental got irritated with Khan for his inputs and made fun of his past films and the actor's sensibilities. The hot-blooded Khan didn't take kindly to Vishal's insulting tone and let out a string of gaalis before hanging up on him." Later, the director realised that he had over-reacted and tried to get in touch with the actor, who refused to entertain his calls.
The source continues, "The damage was done, Khan made it clear that he didn't want to be associated with the director and sent word that he was not to come to him with any other script even in the future."
But Vishal wanted to mend bridges with the actor and asked writer Gulzar to intervene on his behalf and speak to Shah Rukh about their little fracas. SRK heard out the writer and agreed to bury the hatchet but is still clear about not wanting to work with the Maqbool and Omkara director.
