-: Deepika Padukone's former beau, model Nihar Pandya, is keen to be a part of the Hindi film industry. Though both Deepika and he started off with music videos at around the same time, Deepika moved ahead in her career; and shortly after, her personal life.

Nihar was seen in a brief role in the Hollywood production, Williard Carroll's Marigold that starred Salman Khan and Ali Larter. The aspiring actor will now, however, get a better launch vehicle.

Won't talk now

Buzz doing the rounds is that Prashant Chadha, best buddy of Himesh Reshammiya and the name behind his music videos, film (Aap Ka Surroor) and styling plans to introduce Nihar to B-Town.  At the moment though, Nihar is being cautious. "Yes, I want to act in films. But I don't want to say anything at this stage. I don't like to talk about things beforehand as then; they don't happen."

He adds that in the past few months he had to be bedridden due to ill-health. "I was extremely unwell and then I suffered from an acute case of appendicitis. As a result, I had to undergo an emergency operation. So for a while I could not pursue anything."

Himesh is family

About doing Marigold he maintains, "It was just one of those projects to get a feel of filmdom." Incidentally, Himesh's music video, I Love You Sayonee, featured Nihar while Aap Kaa Surroor had Deepika.

Says Nihar, "That is the only music video I have done. Himesh is like family to me. I did it only because of him. I have known Himesh for a long time." According to an insider, "This is purely the reason why Prashant is planning a project with Nihar. It's because of the bonding that he shares with Himesh. They have been talking about it for a while but till things don't take shape, they don't want to divulge details about it."
