While Tigmanshu Dhulia and half of the crew of his film Showman left for London last week, Govinda was stuck in Mumbai. His visa hadn't come through, causing a delay in his departure.
Govinda was denied a UK visa but finally got it and is now heading to London.
Main toh chala
Says Govinda, "For about a week, I couldn't understand why I was stranded. But now, the visa has come through and I'm off to shoot for Showman. I play a con artiste in the film and it's all about sting operations on television and other fake encounters that are such an important part of our lives today. Besides the fact that I want to work with Tigmanshu and I have a terrific role, my biggest incentive for doing this film is the city of London."
Ab main hoon
Govinda shares a deep affinity to the city. "Earlier, Dharamji was the one actor from our industry who loved spending time in the city. Now it's me. I find every possible excuse to spend time there."
Govinda's family will join him soon.
Not just a fan
Tigmanshu is thrilled about getting the chance to finally work with the actor-turned-MP, "I came to Mumbai only so I could work with Govinda. To call myself his fan would be an understatement. I've seen his films repeatedly. My favourite is Zulm Ki Hukumat, a remake of The Godfather in which Govinda was awesome," said Tigmanshu before leaving for the UK's capital city.
