Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey starrer Ugly Aur Pagli which hits screens this weekend has been in the news for the '99 slaps and 1 kiss'! But the untold story is that the lead actors were made to attend workshops to give and receive slaps convincingly.A source in the unit reveals, "The makers wanted to shoot the supposed slaps very naturally and didn't want to over dramatise it. That's the reason they felt the lead members of the cast should get used to the concept. As the slaps are an integral part of the movie, the makers deliberately wanted each slap to look and feel different hence the workshop was initiated."
The Pritish Nandy Communications spokesperson says, "It is true that we conducted various workshops to authenticate the slapping in the movie. Director Sachin Khot supervised the whole thing. Mallika and Ranvir were obviously present; even producer Rangita Nandy made it a point to attend these workshops." Talking about the alleged 99 slaps the spokes-person continues, "There are more than 99 slaps for sure in the movie.
We just used the '99 slaps and 1 kiss' catchphrase as our tagline because it added up to a 100 and also because it is funny! But sadly, there is only one kiss in the movie!"
