Prachi Desai, who makes her Bollywood debut with Farhan Akhtar's Rock On, has also lent her voice for the soundtrack. The Kasamh Se actress who calls herself a 'bathroom singer' was asked to report to an address for some film- related work, one fine day. However on reaching the venue, she realised it was a music studio!
Complete surprise
Talking about her singing debut, Ekta's blue-eyed girl says, "It was a complete surprise. I didn't know they were going to make me sing for the film. I was just told to meet my director (Abhishek Kapoor) for a scene narration. But when I reached there, I realised it was a music studio. I thought I had goofed up and landed at the wrong place."
However Prachi says being asked to sing wasn't an out-of-the-blue request, "I was told that I would be required to sing at the time of signing the film. But I didn't know it would be so random. Had they told me in advance I'd have gone easy on the ice creams and cold drinks for a few days. In fact, Shankar Ehsaan and Loy were there and it was quite an experience recording with them."
Prachi recorded the song in just two takes and is quite proud of her singing debut. "I didn't do bad. Maybe it's because I love singing, and sing when there's no one around." In fact, Shankar even remarked that she should do a reality singing show now that she'd only done a dancing reality show and won!
