Snoop Dogg may cost Vipul Rs 2 cr

Though American rapper Snoop Dogg has agreed to lend his track and voice to Singh Is Kiing, no one from the film has met the superstar-rapper yet. Producer Vipul Shah says, "All our negotiations have been on email and phone. The song for Singh Is Kiing was readied on the computer without any meeting between us. Now in the next couple of weeks we leave for LA to shoot the song with Snoop Dogg."

Apparently, not only did Snoop Dogg have no intentions of coming to Mumbai to shoot the song (which will be part of the film) with Akshay Kumar, he has also made it clear that the entire crew for shooting the song including the choreographer will be decided by him. As will the number of costume and location changes.

Where does that leave Vipul who's footing the entire bill for this global gana-bajaana in LA? "It could cost me anything from Rs 40 lakh to 2 crore depending on how many shifts of location and costume changes Snoop Dogg wants."

Vipul admits he wasn't too familiar with Snoop Dogg's music until now. "I had heard of him but not all his songs. But when my son told his friends that Snoop Dogg was singing in his father's film they started looking at us with new respect. I must admit Snoop Dogg's inclusion in Singh Is Kiing is meant to give my cinema a more global look. In India I really didn't need anyone else when I have Akshay Kumar. But Snoop Dogg will bring a non-Asian viewership into theatres."
