Jaan-E-Mann director Shirish Kunder, will be making his acting debut soon.

Says a source close to Farah Khan's husband, "Shirish is so serious about his acting debut that he's even working quietly under Shah Rukh's personal fitness trainer Prashant Nakwe.

According to an insider, "Shirish had initially wanted to launch his production company with Tees Maar Khan and Joker but now as they are taking time to start, Shirish has decided to act first."

I'm equipped

It is believed that the wannabe actor has done many stage shows in the South for over five years as choreographer and actor, so he feels he's equipped to face the camera without  joining an acting academy.

The source adds, "However Shirish feels that in today's times, fitness is very important so he has started working out under Shah Rukh's trainer, and is following a strict diet and fitness schedule of 2-3 hours every day."

When we quiz Shirish about his acting debut he admits, "Yes there's a great possibility that I will be making a debut as an actor but not in my film. There have been some very tempting offers from other good producers and directors. I am considering them now."

But he isn't sure about what genre of films thriller, romance or comedy will excite him as an actor. "I will accept the ones that suit my personality and I feel I can do complete justice to."

A source close to Shirish says he didn't consciously decide to act. "There were extremely tempting offers made him consider acting as an option but it's not a transition.
 
It is only an extension of what Shirish is already doing. He will direct Joker and Tees Maar Khan, which will start soon."

Shirish Kunder was an electronics engineer by profession and worked for Motorola. But later became a film editor. He turned director with Jaan-E-Mann. He married director Farah Khan in 2004, who gave birth to their triplets on February 11, 2008 at Mumbai's Jaslok's hospital. They have one son and two daughters. Shirish and Farah have named their daughters Diva and Anya and their son Czar.
