Dolling Up: Amrita Rao in the Manish Malhotra creation

Amrita Rao wants to be part of the ‘hot’ brigade. She has been working on her look and has roped in Manish Malhotra to style her in her next film, Shortkut, in which she will be seen in a
glam avtaar.

Manish Malhotra confirms, “I have known Amrita for years and she is a wonderful girl. I am designing her outfit for two songs
in the movie. We always wanted to work with each other but nothing ever worked out. It’s fun working with her because there is so much you can do with her.”

Talking about the look, he adds, “It’s a complete western outfit with a pinch of ’80s look in it. The outfit is western and the look given is the old ’80s. The hairstyle and make-up is done in such a manner that it reminds one of the ’80s.”

Says Amrita, “I have known Manish since Main Hoon Na days. We didn’t get an opportunity to work together and so now I am really looking forward to this.”

Shortkut is the remake of south superstar Mohanlal’s Malayalam film Udayananu Taram and Amrita plays the sexy-girl-next-door. Amrita was initially hesitant to sign the movie but producer Anil Kapoor convinced her to sign on the dotted line. Neeraj Vora directs the movie, that has Akshaye Khanna and Arshad Warsi in lead roles.
