Many suspect that Amitabh Bachchan is being paid to blog. Especially because the self-confessed not-net-savvy Big B has been pouring out his thoughts daily on bigadda.com a networking site launched by Reliance Entertainment that is part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group.
I’m no ambassador
Knowing the Bachchan-Ambani equation, it was hardly surprising they came together for the alliance. Reacting to allegations that his blogging comes attached with a price, Bachchan says, “It is totally incorrect to say this. I am not the brand ambassador for bigadda.com.”
The fact is that Bachchan is using bigadda.com as a mere stopgap arrangement. The superstar will be having his very own personal website soon.
Big B, who is currently shooting near Nashik, informs, “Bigadda is only providing the platform for my blog till the time my personal website is launched.”
His own website is under construction by Zapak and will be revealed when it is ready. “Till then, I will be blogging on bigadda.com. My website should be complete in the next six weeks,” adds Bachchan.
As for his relationship with bigadda and Zapak, he emphasises that “It is only that of a service provider.”
Attracting attention
Ever since Big B started blogging mid-April, his posts have attracted a great deal of attention for his wit, humour and sarcasm in reply to varied issues that involved the star. He has also been individually replying to the messages of his fans the world over.
When his blog was launched, Bachchan was quotes saying, “It gives me a chance to interact with my fans on a personal basis. It allows me to express myself, share and reflect my emotions, thoughts, opinions and listen to what people have to say to me.”
More importantly, also said the blog would help him rebut gossip, “That keeps doing the rounds.”
