Ramadoss who pushed for the ban against smoking in public places has been crusading to get actors to kick the butt. Sushmita, the only actress who proudly carried her Marlboro's packets around (unlike other actresses who smoke behind closed doors) is now off the cancer stick. Persistence pays
The actress, who has been addicted to nicotine for over two decades now, has finally kicked the butt, thanks to the persistent boyfriend. It is learnt that Sen had taken to heavy smoking after her home production Rani Laxmibai was delayed due to production issues. It was then that the concerned Mudassar stepped in. He asked her to quit the habit and helped her do so. Says a source close to the actress, "Sush did go into relapse after a few days, but her will-power is strong and now she's off smoking." For Renee
Another reason to kick the butt was her daughter Renee, continues the source, "Sush realised that passive smoking wasn't a good thing. Her close friends had been asking her to give it up for a long time. They are all glad that she's finally done it." It is believed that this isn't' the first time Sush has quit smoking. She has had a string of episodes where she's quit the habit but has always gone back to it. Only time will tell if this time, it's for good.
