Mumbai:

Not happy with rushes, hits pause button on Rani starrer

Aditya Chopra isn't too happy with the way Anurag Singh's debut film starring Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapoor is shaping up. Right from the first schedule, Haddipa (tentatively titled) has been marred by problems.

Initially, there were reports that Rani wasn't too happy with the direction and was ghost-directing scenes herself. Sources reveal that Aditya Chopra has now taken matters in his own hands.

halt! A still from the film

Unhappy

It is learnt that after watching the rushes of the film, Adi wasn't happy with the way the film was shaping up. A source reveals, "Adi found the direction amateurish by Yash Raj standards. He had a long chat with Anurag who was shooting the film in Punjab. Adi made it very clear that until things changed, he wouldn't have another schedule for the film."

According to sources in the production house, the film's schedule has been cancelled till after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi's release. "The unit was supposed to go on the next schedule in early December, however that has been put on hold. It is believed that Adi's stern action has been influenced by Rani's discontent- ment with the film.

After the debacle of Thoda Magic Thoda Pyaar, the actress has started taking an active interest in watching the rushes and discussing the script and other details with Adi. She isn't satisfied with the film's progress and has expressed her displeasure to Adi."

What happens now will only be decided after Rab Ne... releases.
