Mumbai: The mane man
John Abraham's most noticeable asset (apart from his butt) is the one that's most apparent, his long-flowing mane, which he clipped for Goal. The actor has now gotten a closer shave for Kabir Khan's New York, a Yash Raj production. Johnny boy's new look was the subject of much speculation (given Hush Raj's reputation) and as is the case, with most things that have to stay hidden, has now been snapped up by one of our enterprising photog.

Award time
Vikas Kalantri and Pooja Ghai of White Leaf Entertainment hosted a media meet on Monday at The Club, Andheri, to announce the Gold Awards 2008 to be held in Dubai in December. The jury members include Poonam Dhillon, Dheeraj Kumar among others. The awards recognise excellence in the field of television and were held in Mauritius last year.

Learning process
Pooja Bedi is a versatile mom. Besides engaging her two kids (Alia and Omar) in household activities, she also makes it a point to involve them in her work life. Pooja says, "I recently took Omar to the Bigg Boss house. I had to go there for my scripting and shooting and Omar was very much involved in all the activities." For Omar, a visit to sets was no less entertaining than what he watches on television. "He was very entertained watching Ashutosh shaving Rahul's ears. And the most engrossing moment was when Omar almost came face to face with Monica who was washing dishes near a two-way mirror." You're making your kid watch grown-up men shaving their ears? Eww!

Kat nahin!
A birdie from the KHANdaan chirps to say that the Katrina Kaif Malaika Arora Khan cold war has now reached sub-zero temperature and is enough to form a glacier. Buzz is that Malaika threw a fit when she heard that hubby Arbaaz Khan was planning to cast Kat in his maiden project as producer. Big brother Salman wanted his ladylove in Arbaaz's film. But it looks Malla has now had her way and is wearing an expression that says:  Chal Kat Le!

Sallu-Aamir BFF
Don't be surprised if you see Aamir Khan endorsing Veer and Salman raving about Aamir's hot new bod in Ghajini. Sources close to the two reveal that the actors have decided to promote each other's films at any given opportunity. Salman has already given Aamir the status of the 'hottest body in Bollywood'. The sources also reveal that Aamir may blog about Sallu's intense research and commitment to get the right look for his period film Veer. While Sallu needs to polish his PR skills, Aamir is the master when it comes to marketing. This new alliance definitely is all set to challenge the rest!

SRK to do a remake
We are not talking about his films, but Shah Rukh's Red Chillies is venturing into television. Buzz is that SRK's first daily soap on TV will be a remake of the old sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi that starred Shafi Inamdar, Swaroop Sampat, Rakesh Bedi and others. Even though the casting is yet to be done, sources reveal that an announcement will be made soon. SRK's will be venturing into TV with Anuraddha Prasad the head of BAG films.

Dad's compliments
Nandana Sen held a preview of Rang Rasiya recently. The actress fetched a lot of compliments for her performance in the film. A friend of Sen reveals, "Her dad (Nobel laureate Amartya Sen) loved the film.  He congratulated Ketan Mehta for making such a film. Amartya felt the film puts across a strong political statement that's so relevant today. He said that it was worth flying down from China to watch it." Now we dunno if that's just a father's love speaking...

Watch out
Barry John's most famous student in Bollywood may be Shah Rukh Khan, but the acting guru has been regularly grooming aspirants for the big screen. His latest student in B-Town is Amrit Maghera, the second heroine of Subhash Ghai's Yuvvraaj. Barry describes the newbie as an attentive student. Let's see if she's any good as an actress…
