Mumbai:

Frying pan to the fire...
A bitchy actress calls in to say that Katrina Kaif is one blue funk now, "After six hits, she has now a colossal failure with Yuvvraaj. Guess her jodi with Salman just isn't working. Remember their bit part in Hello? Anyhoo we are not liking her new anorersic look either. She looked pale in Yuuvraaj and is oh-so-thanda on the Vogue cover!" Maybe it's time for Akshay
Kumar to save the damsel in distress again?

Where next?
We've heard that a Turkish delegation headed by their Prime Minister was in town vying to hold the Indian International Film Awards (IIFA) Weekend and Awards in their country. Considered Europe's Cultural Hub for the year 2009-10, Istanbul has approached the IIFA management, as has Ireland. The countries are head to head in this race to become the venue for these global awards, which is in its tenth year. A source says, "Turkey is very interested in hosting IIFA 2009 and the management met up with the delegation, but nothing is finalised" Wish they'd tell us soon. That way that stars will know what to pack!

Better late?
When the cast and crew of the forthcoming comedy Khalballi were shooting in Bangkok, they got to check out the gorgeous topless women wandering around. Chunky Pandey says, "Normally, I don't get uncomfortable. But we just couldn't shoot." However, his co-star Nikhil Dwivedi seemed unaffected. Chunky adds, "I was blushing but Nikhil was having a good time. He maintained his distance but couldn't take his eyes off the women." Chunky is quite upbeat about his new films, and says that after establishing himself in the comedy circuit, he's now hoping to be recognised as an all rounder. A little late in life, no Chunks?

Back in B-Town
Canadian-born model Saira Mohan, a former  Newsweek cover girl, who also featured in Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, in a teenie role, has now joined the cast of Ambika Hinduja's currently under-production Teen Patti. "It is indeed an honour to be a part of a project that has Mr Amitabh Bachchan as its lead," says Saira. Directed by Leena Yadav, the film also stars Madhavan. Teen Patti is a contemporary thriller set in an engineering college. Bring it on one more time, Saira!

B'day wishes
Celina bought in her 27th birthday on Monday with an illness in the family. Says the birthday girl, "My puppy Gooblee was unwell the whole day. She swallowed plastic, and the entire day before my birthday the vet was trying to pull the plastic out of his throat."
Celina is getting herself a BMW to cheer herself up this birthday. "I need that boost. I've been working hard and Golmaal Returns is a hit. So I need to indulge myself. I know a girl's best friend are diamonds, but she needs a posh car to get to the jewellery store. So a BMW. I've chosen a silver coloured one." None of her family members are in town for her birthday, "so it's not a very happy birthday for me." Her birthday wish? "I am unlucky in love, so maybe for my 27th birthday, God will grant me romantic love. It's about time I got lucky in love."

Balancing act
is currently judging Indian Idol 4! Motherhood has only added to her beauty and now she is making heads turn lSony's reality shows have proved one thing — that the judges on their shows go on to greater heights of success post the show. Remember Shilpa Shetty? Farah Khan? Maybe the same is gonna happen to Sonali Bendre who ike never before. But tell her that and she says firmly, "Nothing will make me come back to films. My three-year-old needs me more. I want to be home for my child. I am definitely not looking at a commitment that will take me away." She seems to mean it, because once 'pack-up' is announced, Sonali is the first one to zip out of the studio. Wish hubby Goldie Behl had stayed home too instead of giving us Drona…
