lemme show you how it's done: |
The actress has been dubbing along with model Mugdha Godse, who makes her big screen debut in Fashion.
Gal bonding
"As it is my first time, it is proving to be really daunting. But having Priyanka around has been a great help. She's such a pro when it comes to dubbing and she finishes it off so fast," says Mugdha.
Both have bonded over ayurvedic kantheel pills and glasses of warm water that come handy to avoid any voice disorders. "We are big time into kantheel; it is really soothing for your voice."
Be yourself
What has been most vexing for the newcomer is "that the mikes in the dubbing studio are so sensitive that even one slip gets highlighted in the dialogues.
When there is a mic in front of you, you tend to speak loudly and the end result, is that it sounds like you are screaming!" Priyanka has been providing Mugdha with several tips.
"She has told me to speak as I normally do. The secret is that you have to be yourself. She has also told me that depending upon the person you are whether a morning or night person, it is best to dub at that time. Your voice is best at that hour."Model behaviour
A Puneite, Mugdha arrived in Mumbai to participate in the Gladrags Model contest and won it. What followed were a string of fashion shows and commercials. Bhandarkar directed a jewellery ad featuring her that landed her a role in his film.
Mugdha plays the role of a model who goes from being funky to chic in Fashion. She has also worn a bikini in the film. "Just because I am a model, people think wearing a two-piece is not a big deal. But models can also be shy. But they have good bodies, so they can carry it off well," adds the newcomer.
