Don't mess with me: in Teertha, Sudeep represents the common man appalled by the neglect of temples PIC/K N NAGESH KUMAR |
History comes alive
The plot is thought-provoking. The director explores the state's historical sites and says the state government's neglect of these places has appaled him.
"The subject was on my mind for quite some time. For the last one year, I have been traveling a lot, especially to Belur, Hampi and Halebid. The state government has failed in maintaining these beautiful temples. As a filmmaker, I want to convey this message to the people. When I told Sudeep about the project, he showed a keen interest. He plays a key role in the film because he is the voice of the common man.
I hope our message reaches politicians and bureaucrats," says Kokila Sadhu. No prizes for guessing where the film has been shot.
Hampi, Halebid, Mysore and Belur are captured on camera beauty spots, warts and all.
