After seeing Hello, Chetan Bhagat has turned wary of having his books adapted for the big screen. It appears that the writer is now penning a film himself.The author of books like One Night @ The Call Center, Five Point Someone and The 3 Mistakes of My Life, has inked a script deal with Ashtavinayak Productions.

Says a source, "Chetan has already had talks with the producers. He tossed up some ideas and is developing it into a script. At the moment, he is in the midst of writing it."
The Ashtavinayak spokes-person confirms the develop- ment. "Chetan Bhagat is writing a film for us. Only after he completes the script, will we think of the casting. At the moment, the project is in the initial stages."
On his website (chetanbhagat.com), the author states, "I'm writing a script for Ashtavinayak Films, details of which will be revealed at the appropriate time."
Bhagat's book, One Night @ The Call Center was adapted for the big screen by Atul Agnihotri as Hello starring Sohail Khan, Amrita Arora, Ishaa Koppikar. Five Point Someone's big screen calling is titled Idiots. It is about a bunch of IIT students struggling to survive. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, it is currently being filmed. The cast includes Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
There is also buzz about a film adaptation of his third book, The 3 Mistakes of My Life that is set in the backdrop of business, cricket and religion.
