India: Shahid Kapoor recently discovered that he had a huge fanbase in Pakistan as well, while shooting for Yash Raj's next at the Wagah border.

Our first time

Says a friend close to Shahid, "He has been continuously shooting in Amritsar with Rani Mukerji since the last couple of weeks. At Wagah, they were shooting a metre away from the Pakistan border last week. When Shahid's Pakistani fans learned that he was shooting there, they came in droves to meet him."

The friend adds, "It was a rare sight. Though Shahid has always enjoyed the reputation of being a teen icon, he was shocked to see that he was popular in Pakistan too. There were more than 200 fans of Shahid who arrived for a dekho of him. They shook hands, took pictures with him and told him how they have become huge fans of his, especially after Jab We Met. Shahid was thrilled to meet his fans and spent a lot of time chatting with them. This was his first interaction with his Pakistani fans."

Shahid says, "While shooting near the Wagah border, I met some Pakistani fans of mine and it felt really good because they met me so warmly. It was an amazing experience interacting with them for the first time."
