Digitally yours: Director Padmanabh

The Indian film industry thrives on sharing technology and talent.

If Bollywood actors are open to ventures in the South, filmmakers here too are open to travelling to Mumbai to look at technical support.

Take for instance director Padmanabh. He's taken  his new film Nishedhagne all the way to Mumbai for the digital imaging and grading.

"When the audience watches our films in multiplexes you really can't give them a film with poor quality. I saw Phoonk in a local multiplex recently and was amazed at the digital enhancement of the whole movie. So I had a word with the producer on whether we too go for digital upgradation. He was quite keen on it," says Padmanabh.

"We've taken the film to Prasad labs which was where Phoonk was worked upon. Though the cost has reached more than Rs 40 lakh, I have no regrets. When you watch the film in a theatre you'll realise the quality of sound and picture resolution," he concludes.
