The actress has been thrown out of yet another film PS: Sonal Chauhan steps in
Believe it or swoon, Jiah Khan has been dropped from yet another film!
The actress had been pencilled in for Owais Husain's (son of celebrated artist M F Husain) directorial debut.
 But now that the film has gone on the floors, it has with Sonal Chauhan in the lead role.
Says a source, "Owais had signed Jiah along with Anurag Sinha, who featured in Subhash Ghai's Black and White.
But just before the shoot, the director roped in Sonal instead."
Second thoughts
The unit recently shot a three-week first schedule in Chandigarh. The debuting director had second thoughts about the Nishabd actress after inking the deal with her.
Adds the source, "Even though he had signed her, he decided to let go Jiah and instead, took the Jannat actress."
 When asked about Jiah's exit, Owais maintains, "As with the beginning of all projects there were many options to consider, that is exactly what happened."
About his project he states, "My film has Punjab as its backdrop.
I have not titled the project but people are referring to it as Punjab 69. I don't know how this name came into existence!"
On being the second choice, Sonal's spokesperson says, "As far as we know, she was the first and final choice." |
