Pepsi was launching its new Nimbooz lemon juice drink recently and got Puneeth Rajkumar to do the honours.
When our film reporter eagerly dashed to the spot, he found that the press invite made no mention of the hero.
As is the style of most Bollywood and Sandalwood heroes, when he leisurely ambled in, he was late by over an hour. To his surprise, he found that Alpana Titus, executive VP, Flavours, PepsiCo India, had already launched the drink. Still, putting on a brave face, he had a sip and said that it was tasty. Of course it is just possible that he felt as if he had slipped on a lemon!

The compere also took her job very seriously and even asked those assembled to give a big hand when Titus came on stage, but we hardnosed journalists, who only listen to our editors, didn't oblige and greeted this request with pin drop silence.
Maybe, both Puneeth Rajkumar and Alpana Titus need to 'take a lesson from the lovely lemon tree' as the song goes! |
