Look out for these films in 2009, says Amul Sharma

WANTED

Starring - Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia and Prakash Raj
Directed by - Prabhudeva
Releasing on - September 18
Why watch this? - It is a Salman Khan action film after a long time. This is Prabhudeva's directorial debut in Hindi cinema. This film has been made in two South languages, and both were mega hits.

DIL BOLEY HADIPPA!
Starring - Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherji
Directed by - Anurag Singh
Releasing on - September 18
Why watch this? - Rani Mukherji is playing a man in this film. It has a sports background (remember how much you loved watching Lagaan and Chak De! India?) Also the fresh pairing of Shahid and Rani.

WAKE UP SID
Starring - Ranbir Kapoor & Konkana Sen Sharma
Directed by - Aayan Mukherji
Releasing on - October 2
Why watch this? - The odd pairing of Ranbir and Konkana makes this high on curiosity value. Fantastic music. And a youth film. It's all about growing pains. Who cannot identify with that? And above all it is a Karan Johar production.

ACID FACTORY
Starring - Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Dino Morea, Manoj Bajpai and Dia Mirza
Directed by - Suparn Verma
Releasing on - October 9
Why watch this? - This action film's tag line reads, some thrillers go too far 'this one starts from there'¦ The slick style that producer Sanjay Gupta is known for is in full throttle in this one.

BLUE
Starring - Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta
Directed by - Anthony D'Suza
Releasing on - October 16
Why watch this? - A large portion of this has been shot underwater. Which means bare bodies. Akshay Kumar in a negative role. Lara Dutt in a bikini. An action-thriller which looks like nothing we have seen in Hindi cinema before. AR Rahman's music after his Oscar winning performance earlier this year¦  the list is simply endless.

ALL THE BEST
Starring - Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan and Bipasha Basu
Directed by - Rohit Shetty
Releasing on - October 16
Why watch this? - It's Ajay Devgaan's home production. It has super-hit team of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, in a comedy film. The biggest advantage is it's Diwali release. After two hugely successful films in Golmaal and Golmaal Returns and everyone is waiting for a hat trick.

AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI
Starring - Ranbir Kapoor, Katrnia Kaif and Upen Patel
Directed by - Raj Kumar Santoshi
Releasing on - November 6
Why watch this? - Directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi. And the exciting pair of Ranbir and Katrina. This is the second time Santoshi is attempting a comedy. His last one was Andaz  Apna Apna. The teaser posters of the film have a very young and vibrant feel!

FAST FORWARD
Starring - Vinod Khanna and Akshay Kapoor
Directed by - Zaigham Ali Sayed
Releasing on - September 25
Why watch this? - Based on fresh dance moves and has a very hip-hop feel to it. The biggest attraction of the film however is that the film is written by Neeraj Pandey the writer-director of A Wednesday.

RIGHT YAA WRONG

Starring - Sunny Deol and Irrfan Khan
Directed by - Neeraj Pathak
Releasing on - November 20
Why watch this? - This thriller is meant to a comeback vehicle for Sunny and is not much of an action movie but more of a psychological movie.
