Asha Bhosle makes her acting debut in Maaee. Directed by Mahesh Kodiyal and produced by Nitin Shankar and Subhash Dawar, the songstress begins shooting for the Hindi film in April. The movie is about a mother-daughter relationship. Padmini Kolhapure essays the role of her beti.
Says Asha, "When I got the offer, initially I thought should I? Should I not? But I have always believed in reinventing myself. So I decided to take the plunge. I have been singing for decades, sometimes it is good to take on something new."
And considering that she has a huge sari collection, she will be sporting her own six yards for the movie as well. "I have to keep my character in mind now. I have shot for several music videos, but this is going to be unique - I will have to memorise my dialogues but I know I can do it." Yeh hai Asha, after all!
