A source from the sets says, “Kangna will play the main lead in the film and is slated to visit some of the red-light areas in Mumbai to prep for her role. She essays a courtesan, hence will have to perform some mujra dance numbers. She is keen to learn some dance steps and will undergo training soon.”

Vishawas is also said to be visiting Lucknow soon to observe and meet some of the local dancers.

The director states, “Around 70 old mujra houses remain in south Mumbai. Some of my assistants have crossed the border as well to collect information about the dance form.”
