Well this whiteboard is your multitasking product that has succeeded in setting new standards in a school, making learning interesting and innovative, and teaching easier.

This user-friendly active classroom range enables teachers to prepare lessons in digital format, with the help of a computer and the projector, the whiteboard is operated as a computer with the access to all the options available in a computer, thereby capturing the attention of all the students.

Promethean, in collaboration with Almoe, the leading provider of Promethean’s array of products in India will be providing top of the range interactive technology to the schools across India.

Peter Ormerod, international sales manager, Promethean said, “Our vision is to stimulate passion and excitement in the class, thereby setting new grounds for a better and more effective education system. We are also working with the Government of India to impose this technology in schools, facilitating a flexible education system.”

This whiteboard offers features such as large icons, colourful images, and software installed that operate differently for the primary and the secondary sectors to obtain the desired outputs. The teaching aid applications is incorporated with flip charts, graphs, on screen measuring tools, protractors, images
and shapes, all easily accessible and worked upon on the whiteboard.

Teachers can also monitor the response of the entire class with the help of an accessory called Activote, where the children can respond to questions immediately from their seats. The teacher then can assess
each student on the spot and even obtain their response time.

Mark Reeves, senior vice president, Promethean said, “We are proud to provide schools in India with several options with these impressive interactive whiteboards. This compels the students to be more
active in class, wanting to experiment more and paving way to develop their creative skills.”

The interactive whiteboard costs seem pretty steep starting from Rs 85,000. So far, three schools in India have already adopted this technology. Bethany High School is the first school in Bangalore to have adopted this technology. The whiteboards have 25 languages installed in the software so far, but the Indian languages are yet to be incorporated.

“We believe that this state of the art technology will bring about a revolutionary change in the country,” summed Rajiv Johar, general manager, Almoe.

Though this technology is well equipped to bring about a change on the educational front, the chances of reaching out to many students are remote as these boards are not affordable by many schools, and training is costly too.
