Bangalore:

cool show: The Incredibles has been one of the latest animation hits

Those interested in learning animation and visual effects may no longer have to attend classes. With the animation industry in India undergoing rapid development, one of the leading companies has introduced what arguably could be the country's first online training programme for animation and special effects.

A new course

Initiated by Frameboxx, clickboxx.tv is a online training platform where anyone who's interested in the world of animation can learn to animate and much  more.

The advantage? You can learn at your own pace and from the comfort of your home or office. The course is delivered at regular intervals and will take the student though various modules over a period of time.
The first course on offer is Game Modelling 101 using Autodesk 3ds max. Modelling for games requires a precise production channel that is exclusive and unlike the film production pipeline.

The online course imparts training in detailed modelling pipeline and a step-by-step process for creating a model.

Right direction

Sachin Bhatnagar, vice president new media, says that Frameboxx plans to take animation learning in our country to a new level. "We'd also like to prepare a mix of online and offline courses, which will be best suited for long term career-based programmes. For those who intend to pursue a career in high end animation one on one interaction is important."

Clickboxx.tv, plans to deliver high-resolution video based lectures packaged as courses on a wide array of topics for beginners and intermediate artistes to advanced level users and professionals. To join Clickboxx.tv, you have to first register and create an account with the help of the registration wizard.

Well-designed

Technical experts at Brainboxx, the company's research and development division have designed the courses and are responsible for verifying assignments submitted by students.

"We are trying to keep the response time from us to the student within 24 hours. We have a mix of technical experts from our R&D team and teachers comprising some very senior animation technicians who guide the students and verify their work," says Sachin.

Unlike streaming video where you're required to be online, the lectures are downloadable on to your hard drive so you can study at your own pace.

With a frequency of just one video lecture per week, you can pace your learning experience and get the maximum out of the course. And if you ever get stuck or have a query, Clickboxx has a team of instructors on stand-by to assist you.

To make it interactive, sporadic assignments, extra course materials, workshops and seminars will also be a part of the curriculum.
