Foursome ain't fun!
By: Kumar Saurav

Delhi:

PS: Will tomorrow's release Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno see a different plight?

Deewane Hue Pagal

Year of release:
2005

Kahaani mein twist: This There's Something About Mary rip-off starts with an on campus romance between Karan (Shahid Kapoor) and Tanya (Rimii Sen), but before the relationship falls in place, Tanya shifts to Dubai.

Even after years of separation, Karan is not over with Tanya, so he hires Rocky, a detective, to track her down but instead, Rocky falls for her. Also in the queue to impress Tanya is her physically challenged friend, Sanju (Sunil Shetty).

BO report: This was yet another failed attempt from Vikram Bhatt to complement his string of flops. Even the mighty presence of Akshay Kumar couldn't pull viewers to this mindless comedy.

Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat

Year of release: 2001

Kahaani mein twist: Yash Sabharwal (Sunil Shetty) believes that money hai to honey hai, but his philosophy suffers a setback when Isha (Kirti Reddy) refuses his proposal. Yash hires Gaurav (Arjun Rampal) to woo Isha and then dump her, hoping that she'll come running to his arms. Again, there's Taj (Aftab Shivdasani) another suitor for the lady.

BO report: Rajiv Rai is still reputed as a director who led the trend of glossy thrillers in Bollywood. But the maker of hits like Tridev and Mohra failed terribly when it came to hardcore romance. A wafer thin plot and unimpressive cast disappointed thoroughly.

Dil Maange More

Year of release: 2004

Kahaani mein twist: The story line revolves around a small town guy Nikhil (Shahid Kapoor) who shifts base to Mumbai to woo his girl Neha (Soha Ali Khan) back. Meanwhile, he meets Sara (Tulip Joshi) and Shagun (Ayesha Takia). Then starts a series of twists and turns, when he finds solace and love in the new girls in his life.

BO report: Despite good music and relatively known faces, this light-hearted film could not rock the box office. The songs, though, did pretty well.

Nayee Padosan

Year of release:
2003

Kahaani mein twist:
This neighbourhood romantic flick had three young men Raju (Annuj Sawhney), Raja (Aslam Khan) and Ram (Vikas Kalantri) going gaga over their new neighbour Pooja Iyengar (Mahek Chahal).

BO report: Nowhere close to its Sunil Dutt-Kishore Kumar starrer inspiration, Nayee Padosan sure had its moments but not many. Oodles of oomph couldn't do much, either.

Tum Bin

Year of release:
2001

Kahaani mein twist:
Amar (Rakesh Bapat) and Pia (Sandali Sinha) are about to get married but on his visit to India, Amar is hit by Shekhar Malhotra's (Priyanshu Chatterjee) car and is killed.

Filled with remorse, Shekhar goes to Canada to rescue Rakesh's sinking business. In the process, cupid strikes Pia and Shekhar. Pia's business partner Abhigyan (Himanshu Malik), too, is smitten by her.

BO report: A bunch of promising newcomers, decent plot and melodious songs the film was a moderate success.
