This 1960 find has been at the helm of a "liberated generation", one that allows couples-in-love (or not) to explore a relationship without an abort-or-not-to-abort predicament jolting them out of their "love haze". But, what if you found out that the contraceptive pill itself, had the power to throw you out of love? Would you still be on it? Would you risk your love to be in love? We decided to find out.
The Pill can ruin your relationship, say British scientists
The Pill affects the way a woman assesses a male's sexual attractiveness by disrupting an intrinsic mechanism the ability to judge men for their genetic compatibility via his smell.
The Pill can alter the type of male scent that women find most attractive, which may in turn, make their husbands or boyfriends appear as "less attractive".
Women on the Pill tend to pick Mr Wrong a genetically less compatible man.
Besides causing relationships to end, couples with different genes are also most likely to experience fertility problems or miscarriages.
Those on the Pill tend to prefer guys who are macho, whereas those who aren't on it, prefer the sensitive variety of men.
These three women say, "No way!"

I am wary of popping any pill, and this study is all the more reason to avoid the Pill. We are aware of the common side effects, but that it can damage your
relationship, is scary.

I don't like ingesting anything that can alter my body, physiologically. If research says the Pill can add complications to your relationship, why take the risk? Relationships are getting tough anyway.

I prefer avoiding the Pill, side effects or not. And with so many new studies, we don't know which one to rely on. But if a relationship is not working out, women at least, have the Pill to blame now!
British scientists are working on a male contraceptive pill. Will desi men try it?

I would like to do some research before taking a decision. If it causes side effects like bloating and headaches, that women on the Pill experience, I wouldn't take it. I prefer that my wife doesn't take it either.

The last thing a guy needs is mood swings! I wouldn't want to feel bloated. Wearing the condom is the best contraceptive measure no glove, no love.

Who wants to go through side effects. I vote for the condom. I have women friends who are experiencing frightening side effects from being on the Pill.
What is the Pill?
Hormone tablets that usually contain progesterone and estrogen, birth control pills are oral contraceptives.
Why use the Pill?
The failure rate is less than .5%; condoms have a higher failure rate. Using a combination of the pill and condom is advised, since the pill does not provide protection against STDs.
Mild side effects:
Nausea: During the first few days of the cycle.
Mild headaches
Weight gain: Half to one kg a year.
Mild depression
I haven't treated to any such problem
Dr Sheetal Sabharwal Obstetrician and gynaecologist
No complaints so far: The biggest takers of the contraceptive pill are the younger lot, between the age group of 22 and 28. If the pill was causing the side effects that the study claims, they would have no reason to be sexually active.
Emergency contraceptives have worse side effects: Such a study would push people off the Pill, and make them opt for morning after pills.
