Parish and Rupali Kapse found their dream home at Palm Beach Road, Sanpada two years back. They were looking for a flat close to their children's school. Finally, they booked two flats on the same floor and converted them into a spacious 4BHK home. They spoke to Hot Property about their home buying experience:

Looking for a home...
We started looking for property along Palm Beach Road five years back. Since CIDCO had proposed to make a knowledge corridor out here, real estate development then was relatively low. Six-eight buildings were coming up in this area, and we saw around 10 flats before zeroing in on this one

Arranging the finances...
We bought this place around three years back. The market was good then and getting loans was easy. My wife and I were working in Singapore and had been saving since a considerable period of time. Though I am a self-employed person, it wasn't too tough for me as my papers were in order

Doing up the interiors...
My wife and I handpicked all the furniture, artefacts and paintings, mostly from Hong Kong and Italy. Our house is structured as per Vastu principles. We've tried to make our home as eco-friendly as possible. We have used recycled wood, water soluble paints, minimum glass fittings and energy saving equipment

Why we chose this place…
You can easily travel from Palm Beach Road to other areas of Navi Mumbai. It meets all the daily needs of a resident in terms of schools, hospitals and shops. This is an upcoming area and there's scope for appreciation in property rates

The flat…
We love the sea view from our flat. The cross ventilation keeps it airy throughout. Besides, our complex is also a good one. We have facilities like a swimming pool, indoor play area, air conditioned lobby — all of which are really well maintained

Lessons learnt
A home-buyer needs to figure out his priorities before s/he starts house hunting. The person should decide what is more important to him/her the location, the amenities or the pricing
