Delho:

If you thought teenagers and 20-somethings were the only well-wired folk around, ask your seven-year-old a thing or two about technology and chances are, he/she'd beat you flat out with his/her interest and know-how. With the computer culture seeping into kids' lives at pre-natal stages, child whizzes aren't uncommon anymore.

What is rare, of course, is a value-based system that can guide them right in this direction. Enter Hewlett-Packard with its nationwide outreach crusade, which gets Toyland hero Noddy to do the job the fun way!

For your darling's desk

With a price range of Rs 16,000 to Rs 38,000, the HP Noddy Pavilion desktops come as easy on the pockets as they do on the kids. Currently launched in the four metropolises Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata the simple-to-use multimedia rich range is adorned with Noddy skins and edutainment rich inbuilt programs to make computing exciting for beginners.

Live line

Apart from their new product offering, the global tech vendor is also extending its campaign to live performances from the storybook series across major cities in India. The ongoing Noddy live shows for youngsters, titled 'Noddy and the Treasure Map Adventure', are one-hour fun-filled musicals that encourage edutainment-oriented interaction. "We are delighted to provide a world class edutainment experience to families through these shows.

In alignment with our lifestyle computing strategy to provide education in an entertaining way to the children, which is also traditionally the reason most people buy PCs, we are bringing this unique show to India that combines moral values and fun", says Shubhodip Pal, head of consumer marketing, HP.

School chalein hum

The affair, brought about in association with child entertainment group Just Because it's Children and theatre production house Millennium Entertainment International, equally involves orphans and less fortunate young ones, apart from schools. "We are covering over 1,00,000 children through our school contact programme during the same period," he concludes.
