Kharghar is attracting a lot of home-buyers with its infrastructure and picturesque surroundings.
Known for its attractive landmarks, Kharghar has seen a rise in number of malls, restaurants and upmarket residential properties in the past couple of years.
We took a look at some of happening sectors (7, 13 and 20) to know what's in store:
What's hot?
Kharghar is close to Navi Mumbai's business areas like Vashi, CBD Belapur, Mahape, etc, as well as to the industrial belt of Taloja
It has picturesque surroundings in the form of the lush Kharghar hills and a creek
Currently, it's one of the most developed nodes in Navi Mumbai. The area is well connected to other harbour line and central suburbs by bus service
With proposed projects like the new international airport, CIDCO's Central Park and Sewri-Nava Seva Link, areas in and around Kharghar have become attractive investment propositions for residential and commercial properties
The real estate development in Kharghar has been remarkable. Projects like Hexblox, Seawood Heritage, Kesar Harmony are touted to be as costly as those in suburban Mumbai
It has upcoming malls like Little World, Glomax, Shah Mall and Prime Mall with multiplex cinemas and supermarkets
What's not?
Internal transportation in Kharghar is expensive and irregular. Some of the NMMT buses don't halt at the railway station. The minimum rickshaw fare is Rs 15 and goes up to Rs 30-35
Kharghar doesn't have as many posh malls, shopping centers or multi-cuisine restaurants as other harbour line suburbs
People who need to travel to the western or central suburbs have to switch trains at Wadala or Kurla. Only trains plying from CST to Panvel and Khandeshwar halt at Kharghar
Catching up with Kharghar
