Mumbai:
It's almost a ghar, ghar ki kahaani. We all want to make love, but then, who has the time? Ironically, sex allows you to get away from pressures, distractions, worries and responsibilities. Doesn't that sound like fun? So, if you are not fortunate enough to take a vacation every now and then, whether it's time or money constraints that hold you back, it's time you utilised your Sunday to full effect.
Switch off your cell phones, give the maids an off, order in some delicious food, and make sure you don't wear too many clothes. This Sunday could be your best Sunday ever.
3 experts give you reason to make out (as if you needed it!)
Couples are too tired to have sex
Dr Karishma Talreja, Specialist in psychiatry
My patients often complain about their sorry sex lives. It's about the work pressure they are under, and impossible deadlines they have to meet, which leaves them no time and energy for sex. Both partners should respect each other's space, try and understand each other's desires. They must spend time together.
Sexual intimacy can make, break marriage
Dr Hitesh Shah, Sexologist
Not indulging in regular sex often spells disaster for a marriage. Sexual intimacy is rejuvenating, and hence, indispensable. Take timely help from a sex therapist or marriage counsellor if you notice a dip in regularity.
Sex releases stress relieving hormone
Duru Shah, Medical director, Gynaec World
Most couples don't indulge in enough sex, or any at all, since they are too busy with work, or travelling. They must make the time. Sex is the cornerstone of a relationship, it's a good exercise and stress buster. When you have sex, a hormone called Certonin is released, and that acts as a mood elevator.
That's the way love goes
Start by smooching: To start off, smooch a lot. It's easy, and doesn't take too much energy. The next step would be to make out as if you were teenagers. By the time you reach second base, you will want to go the whole way.
Get a massage: Take your spouse to a spa for an hour-long massage. It will relax you both, and help de-stress.
Wear nothing the whole day: Wear the barest minimum, or better still, play strip poker. It will lighten the mood, if nothing else.
Switch off your mobiles: You need to cut away from the world. This time is reserved for your partner. Disconnect cable wires, too.
Clear your chores earlier: Make sure you have shopped, cleaned and paid all your bills through the week. Once all that is done, you have Sunday just to be together.
When in the mood, get a room!
If you have the moolah to splurge, why not book a room in a five-star for a Sunday? You can laze in bed for long, have a sumptuous breakfast, sleep a little more, take a bubble bath, go for a dip in the pool and then, slowly get busy in the sack. A deluxe room at a five-star could cost you around Rs 15,000 a night, inclusive of breakfast.
Celebrities love "vacations"
It's natural for celebrity romances to be rekindled while on vacation. Hollywood stars Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson would know. In fact, much of their relationship seems to be based on a foreign affair. The two were first photographed together in Australia in 2007, while Hudson was on-location; they split just months later. In April 2008, after nearly a year apart, Hudson and Wilson reunited in Miami; weeks later, they spent Hudson's 29th birthday with his parents at a restaurant on South Beach.
