Give me a ring
By: Sheena Thomas

Mumbai: Men have always been fascinated by girly stuff. From pink shirts to skinny jeans, manicures to body pierces, hairbands to jewellery... the list seems to be getting longer everyday. These days, men with earrings are more the norm than the exception. So, we list out some dos and don'ts for men who want to wear earrings:

Look like a stud
Stick to studs and small, simple hoops. (They should be just a wee bit longer than the bottom of your ear lobe.) Sure, your girlfriend / wife looks great in danglers, but if you own a pair like that, we suggest you gift it to her

Not two good
Do not get both ears pierced, unless you're a rocker. If you sport balis in both ears, you might as well be wearing lipstick too

No gold rush
While small, silver studs look great too, we suggest you avoid wearing the bold, gold ones. They somehow look good only on women. And, moreover the're too loud for office

Don't stick to it
If you're too scared of getting yourself pierced, at least don't resort to wearing a magnetic earring. It can fall off when you're running a hand through your hair, Chiranjeevi style or when you're putting your Bluetooth headset on. It looks very wannabe

Stone age
Don't wear your birthstone as an earring. Coloured stones look horrendous on men so stick to the diamonds or American diamonds

Left is right
Always pierce your left ear, unless you want people to think that you're a gay. If you are, the right ear is the right ear for you
