Be a sport at work

Mumbai:

Well, your office might not exactly be your playground, but that shouldn't stop you from dressing up sporty. Moreover, we're sure you must be bored of the same old corporate uniform. But if you have a hard time pulling off a sporty look to office, here's what you can do to swing in style:

Belt and accessories
If you think belts are optional, let us tell you that they are essential for a sporty look. "Working men should just stay away from those over-sized fancy buckles. They look too tacky," says fashion designer Pria Kataria Puri. Indian cricketer S Sreesanth says, "Apart from belts there's a lot more men can sport to work like stylish specs frames, classic glares, smart watches or even caps. I am a cap person and I think they add charm to your appearance and look really cool on casual outfits."
But don't… wear fake branded caps and gold chains around your neck like Bappi Lahiri.
Try donning... a cap, smart tee, denims, sneakers and a sporty bag
Sporty quotient... 3.5/5

Sporty bags
The best thing about a sporty bag is that it goes well with almost any casual outfit. These bags are such a huge hit with men, because you can just shove in everything that doesn't fit in your pocket. Plus, most of the time, it makes a man instantly stand out as stylish.
But don't… sport brightly coloured bags. Stick to colours like red, black, white and blue.
Try donning... a tee, denims, cargos, khaki belt, jacket and a pair of cool sneakers
Sporty quotient... 4/5

T-shirts
It's time to replace your vanilla pinstripes with smart collared tees. You could also try wearing T-shirts with smart messages or designs on them for a little attitude.
But don't… "Wear ill-fitted tees to work. Also deep neck and skin-tight T-shirts or even the ones with wrong signs and symbols are an absolute no-no for office," says fashion designer, Manish Malhotra.
Try donning... "Denims, cargos, cap, trendy watch, bag, balis, leather sandals or sneakers," suggests Manish.
Sporty quotient... 4.5/5

Jackets
"Jackets are a big hit this season and can spice up an otherwise boring outfit," says Pria. If you're a jacket lover, we suggest you sport a lightweight jacket. After all you're wearing it to work and not for an evening party.
But don't… be caught in those bulky Schumacher and leather jackets. They are not meant to be worn to work.
Try donning... "Khakis, linen pants, chinos, denims, etc with a button-down, knit shirt, or tee underneath it," suggests Pria.
Sporty quotient... 3/5

Sneakers
They are comfy and just perfect for that sporty look. Sports sneakers can really change your look, provided you wear them with casuals. "Red sneakers can look really smart with denims and a red cloth belt paired with a jacket," says Pria.
But don't… wear sneakers with formals.
Try donning... denims, a T-shirt or a trendy zip-up sweatshirt for a relaxed look.
Sporty quotient... 4/5

Sporty factor
Style statement:
I am most comfortable in a tee and a pair of jeans. I like to dress for myself. For me style is wearing clothes that fit well and are suited to my personality.
Crazy about: I love sporting a wristband, sweatband and a cap. These are three things you'll always see me wearing. I am also fond of accessories like balis, chains, bracelets, etc.
Power dressing: A slim fit Armani suit is the ultimate confidence booster.
